At the Godar Siavash Natanz granite quarry, with five quarry benches, joint surveying were conducted on the various benches. Subsequently, geometric characteristics, including dip and dip direction, were recorded for 1012 joints. The present study focuses on joint studies, encompassing data processing, plotting various diagrams such as rose-diagram and analyzing results to determine the optimal cutting direction for stone blocks on the each quarry bench individually. Based on this analysis, the joints on the various benches generally exhibit northeast-southwest and northwest-southeast trends. Afterwards, contour plot of surveyed joint poles showing the position of the major joint planes were created for each bench on the stereonet. This approach revealed three major joint planes on the first and fourth benches, and four major joint planes on the second, third, and fifth benches. Next, to further refine the characterization of the major joint planes on each bench, fuzzy clustering was performed using DIPS software. For improved visualization, 3D diagrams representing the spatial location of joint clusters on each bench were generated following the clustering process. Finally, based on the joint clustering results, the optimal cutting directions for stone blocks were determined for the quarry phase of each bench. For example, during the quarrying of the first bench, one cutting face of the stone blocks should be oriented along N25E, and the other face should be designed perpendicular to this direction as well as about the second bench, the cutting faces of the blocks should be designed in two perpendicular directions: northeast-southwest and northwest-southeast.
